Important patient update

We understand there is national policy around the availability of weight loss medications from 23 June 2025. GPs in Lancashire & South Cumbria have not yet received confirmation that they will be commissioned to prescribe these medications.

Your GP is awaiting official guidance & commissioning updates. Until we receive confirmation, we cannot guarantee that the service will be available from 23 June.

What you need to know

• We will provide an update as soon as more information becomes available.
• If we are going to be commissioned to provide this service, we will offer suitable appointments to our patients
• If we are not going to be commissioned, we will advise you on what arrangements are being put in place for the local population.
