Careers Convention Day
On 20th May we sent a handful of staff to Thorn Primary School in Bacup to attend their careers convention morning for year 4 and year 6 pupils. The morning was to raise awareness amongst the children of the job opportunities that are available within the local community and beyond. The children were given the opportunity to speak to people who do a variety of jobs to gain an insight into how to achieve their ultimate goal.
They were there for roughly 2 hours to answer questions from the children in an informal way about the job/career. We displayed some information and used appropriate equipment for the children to look at and have a go with themselves.
The children rotated in small groups so that they all got chance to sit down with each visitor on the day.
